An annotated guide to the architecture of Genoa: a new way of viewing and understanding the city, presented by members of the Architecture Faculty.
Fifteen authors, mostly members of the Faculty of Architecture at Genoa University, have contributed to this book, which is the most up-to-date source of knowledge about one of the most intricate urban constructs in the world.
The explanatory chapters come with some two hundred detailed technical sections, which with maps and diagrams of the means of transport, tell the building history of the city from Roman times to new urban developments of the Nineties.
Unlike all previous guides, which are essentially for tourists, this also includes contemporary culture, restoration and the relationship of the city to its surroundings. Every building has been rephotographed for this project.
