This book is devoted entirely to the classical text typefaces, those that have passed the test of time. These classics were all orginally designed for metal settings, but many digital versions of these faces are now available.
The goals of this publication were to find the best digitally avaliable versions of these classics and to provide a beautifully set, easy to use reference tool to these masterpiece font families.
The book is divided into sections, each devoted to one font family. At the opening of each section, a table lists the foundry that developed the font, the supplier, and assessments of how the font rates in each of the establishe criteria. This is followed by a presentation of the main weight of the font in large size, and then pages showing the full range of text usage possibilities that particular font family offers.
