Len Castle is one of New Zealand's pre-eminent potters, an extremely accomplished and sophisticated craftsperson whose work over the past 50 years epitomises the vitality of the 20th century craft movement. Len Castle - Potter is a magnificent celebration of his life and work. It has over 170 colour plates, which provide a chronologically arranged record of Castle's oeuvre between 1947 and 2001. Len Castle has also created several photo essays to illustrate themes such as 'the potter as an alchemist' and ceramics from 'volcanic and geothermal landscapes'.

Alongside the photographs the book has written contributions from Ron Sang, Nancy Pel, Douglas Lloyd-Jenkins and Galvan MacNamara, as well as from Len Castle himself.
