The Photographic Encyclopedia of Birds contains 400 colourful photographs from the world of birds, many of which have never been published before.  The pictures show representatives from almost all the 180 families from all over the world.

To do justice to the pictures, Richard Commber describes each family in systematic order, giving details of their relationships with other bird families, distribution and habitats, descriptions, food and breeding behaviour.

Details of threats to the environments and populations of many families and species are given, together with informaiton of some of those that are already extinct.

Included is previously unpublished information and anecdotes, based on the field notes made by the author during his extensive international birding trips as a specialist ornithological tour guide.

This book is a mine of information on the 8900 plus species of the world's birds, bringing together a wealth of facts and a superb collection of photographs.

Please Note: Because of the large size of the book  -  the price listed here  includes an extra $5 to help cover the additional  packaging and postage cost.
