Well known New Zealand angler, Keith Draper, surveys New Zealand angling resources, discusses equipment and techniques comprehensively, and debates angling problems. Includes rainbows, brown trout and salmon - - much advice and some good yarns.
It is very much a “how to catch trout book” covering all the usual subjects including dryfly, nymph, wet fly, smelt, winter fishing, fishing at night, spinning, boat angling for trout, salmon, fishing gear and a host of others. Even today, some 35 years on, it still inspires young and old to have a go.
The book contains many original photographs by the author. Keith Draper was born in Hastings in 1932. He died recently. He is perhaps best remembered for his excellent fly tying books which have become the standard by which all others are measured.
