'I believe that this is a rather special book because it is one mans unique vision of Church that is both rooted in and the fruit of over fifty years of priesthood.' - Willie Walsh

I promised I would write this book only if there was a purpose in it. Is it possible that Church and State systems could learn from what is happening at local community level? Based on this idea is it time to articulate a vision or to reimagine an Ireland which an turn to the people their talents and resources for renewal and recovery? Could this be a topic worth considering?

The conversation along these lines has already begun.

After ordination in 1963, Harry Bohan studied sociology with a view to understanding and interpreting the signs of the times in a changing Ireland. He is recognised as a leading social commentator and has been the driving force behind several practical projects aimed at strengthening family and community , including the Rural Resource Organisation and the Céifin Centre for Values-led Change. He is the local priest for the parish of Sixmilebridge and Kilmurry, and his passion for Clare hurling has never been stronger.
